Before Stephen B. Selden can speak intelligently with you about the aspects of financial security planning that might be right for you and your family, he needs to get to know you. And, before you can feel comfortable sharing your goals and dreams, you need to get to know him. Stephen began his career with Northwestern Mutual in Petoskey in 1977 as a life insurance and disability income specialist with a primary focus on the financial security of his clients. He began his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) studies in 1979 and received his CLU designation in 1982. Stephen became a Registered Representative for investments in 1987 and earned his Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designation in 2000. Stephen's father was a senior investment officer for another large financial services company, so it was only natural that Stephen would also have an interest in investments and insurance. Valuing a team effort in helping clients plan for financial security, Stephen has established working relationships with fellow advisors and specialists around the country. He has been a member of the Estate Planning Council of Northern Michigan since its founding, and interacts regularly with his clients' legal and tax advisors.
